Providence Integrative Cancer Care Program at Olympia

Description

The Integrative Cancer Care Program at Providence Regional Cancer System is delighted to announce an opening for a massage therapist in our Lacey office. Experience and training in the following are preferred: lymphedema, scar tissue mobilization, and oncology massage. Interested therapists lacking training in some or all of these areas should not be discouraged from applying, as we are willing to explore covering the cost of such training for the right candidate. Please note this position is part-time with some flexibility on days and office hours, although there will be an opportunity in the near future to add days at some of our other sites.

All of our integrative care practitioners are independent contractors who enter into a space-for-lease agreement that includes reception support and scheduling. As part of this arrangement, they enjoy full marketing and advertising efforts within the Providence system. Additionally, they benefit from a robust client base, as our medical and radiation oncologists refer patients regularly for holistic care. Laundry is done by our housekeeping staff with supplies provided on-site, meaning our practitioners can focus their time on patient care. Due to the need of our practitioners to treat chronically ill patients on a repeat basis, any therapist joining our team should have insurance credentialing with at least a few major payers. Plans typically accepted include Kaiser Permanente (formerly Group Health), Regence, Premera, and First Choice.

Providence Integrative Cancer Care provides body-mind-spirit resources for cancer patients to encourage the best possible outcomes for the whole person. With an emphasis on positive and proactive health management, our program is designed to enhance wellness and quality of life while reducing treatment-related symptoms and risk of disease recurrence. All of our providers have specialty training in cancer medicine and work collaboratively with our medical and radiation oncology team. It is our goal to provide the most comprehensive cancer care in southwestern Washington. Currently, we offer patients a broad range of treatments including naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, nutritional education, and oncology massage.
