Born and raised in the Seattle area. I started doing bodywork in support of my father at the direction of his Chiropractic group after a severe fall that he sustained in early 1968. That experience led me to attend Brenneke Massage School to achieve my LMT license.
I joined the teaching staff soon after as a team teacher with the esteemed Pat Archer. Following her lead I became one of the original team of therapists to form the Washington Sports Massage Team (WSMT) and later became part of the Event Sports Massage Education Council of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). I also became a National Sports Massage Team Member where I qualified to work with the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympic Medical team for Track & Field.
In addition I have worked the Goodwill, Pan-Am & Commonwealth Games and consulted with both the Salt Lake and Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. As a member of the WSMT for 20+ years I worked at numerous local and statewide events. I also worked with many NCAA Swimming and Diving programs for national championship events including Stanford, University of Washington, Washington State, USC, Louisville & Air Force.
During my time teaching I have worked as an Instructor, Education Director and Visiting Specialist for many of the northwest and California schools. I travel frequently to teach Continuing Education Classes in the Western states but have traveled east as a honored guest speaker with panel discussions for the Sports Massage industry.
